Summary

Who is responsible

DailyClue is operated by P Sai Kalyan, based in India. For any privacy question, contact us through dailyclue.games@gmail.com.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser’s localStorage to remember your theme, today’s progress, which game you chose today, and your statistics (games completed, wins and streak). These never leave your device. Details are in the Cookie Policy. You can clear it in your browser settings; doing so loses your progress and statistics.

Anonymous usage statistics

When the site owner has switched analytics on, the games send small anonymous events to our own database (hosted on Supabase) so we can see how the site is used. Each event contains: the event type (for example “game started” or “game won”), which game, the Indian puzzle date, win or loss, how many attempts it took, the page type, the website you came from (hostname only), a coarse device type and browser family, and two random identifiers: one stored in your browser to recognise a returning browser, and one for the current visit.

We never receive the puzzle answer, your guesses or moves, or anything you type. We do not store your IP address or your full browser string (the server looks at them briefly, in memory only, to work out a coarse device type and to limit abuse). The random identifier is not linked to your name or any account, but it is a persistent identifier on your device, so we treat it as personal data where the law requires. Analytics is skipped if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also stop it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We use the data in aggregate to improve the site, and intend to delete events older than about 400 days.

Hosting

The site and its small analytics endpoint are delivered by Vercel, which processes standard request data (such as IP address, user agent and the pages requested) in its server logs under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store those logs as player records.

Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to deliver, limit and measure ads and, where permitted, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings, opt out of some third-party vendors’ personalised advertising at aboutads.info, and learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent through a consent message before personalised advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy options that message provides, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, or to complain to a data protection authority. We do not hold player records ourselves, so there is normally nothing for us to retrieve. For data held by Google or Vercel, use their own tools and policies. If you have a request, contact us through dailyclue.games@gmail.com.

Children

The game is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where required, advertising is limited or switched off for users known to be children.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, and change the date above.

How to play

DailyClue has three daily puzzles: Five Letters, Word Ladder and CodeBreak. You can play all three every day, but each game only once a day.

Once you finish a game it stays finished until new puzzles arrive at midnight India time (IST).
